Who We Are

Lisa Smith, CEO and Founder of Dragon Investigation Group, is a certified fraud examiner, licensed private investigator and professional genealogist. Ms. Smith is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators as well as the Rockingham County Law Enforcement Officers Association. She has served as Treasurer of Innovative Women in Business, the local chapter of the American Business Women’s Association. She has been a member of the Private Investigator Association of Virginia and the New Hampshire League of Investigators, where she served as editor of their quarterly newsletter and on their Cold Case committee.

Ms. Smith is also a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and the Texas Bay Area Genealogical Society, where she served as President (2021-2023), 1st Vice President (2020-2021), Recording Secretary (2015), and many committee chair positions on their Board of Directors. Ms. Smith has presented at genealogical societies, churches, and colleges, and is published in the Texas Bay Area Genealogical Society newsletter and journal. Her interests are Greek, Ukrainian, and Swedish genealogy, but she enjoys teaching genealogical methodology to everyone.

Ms. Smith began with a career in computer programming moving into the medical field before pursuing a career in investigation and fraud examination. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Criminal Justice. Her creative and analytical skills optimize her investigation work and fit perfectly into her love for solving puzzles.
